Betasso Scenes - July
July 3 was a remarkable day for thistles. I was on the ground and focused on the thistle before the hummingbird arrived.
The hummer didn't stay long, just enough for one shot.
Ladybug convention.
In the parking lot at Betasso, also July 3, three Red Crossbills were feeding near some puddles. We saw them in the same parking space July 9 and 17, even when cars were parked there.

Two crossbills.
There were very new MOBL chicks in Box 3 on July 3, and some WEBL fledglings. After a WEBL nest was lost to predation, some Tree Swallows moved into Box 21. We're hoping the predator, probably a snake, has a poor memory.
